GDPR / Privacy

The EU Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) is becoming Norwegian law in 2018, which means that Norway also has new privacy rules. The new regulations give businesses such as Gargia Lodge AS new duties and Gargia Lodge AS customers / guests / customers new rights.

New regulations came into force from May 2018 and the Gargia Lodge AS follows these new EU custom regulations. Gargia Lodge AS has internal control routines for handling personal information and other information Gargia Lodge AS receives from customers. Personal information will not be sold or otherwise distributed to anyone than those who need such information in order to complete the agreement/order including additional benefits.

The customer/recipient of newsletters by e-mails, recipients of text messages and other market activities will at any time be able to request that all information stored and which is not required by law/regulation by Gargia Lodge AS, is to be deleted.

The customer/guest will, if the data has not been deleted, receive an e-mail from Gargia Lodge AS or from one of the marketing names, recipients may request that all information Gargia Lodge AS has saved is deleted at no cost.

When customers order a product, tour, tickets or other services, is this to be considered as an agreement with Gargia Lodge AS and Gargia Lodge AS is then required to register personal information.

The customer agrees, at the time of booking, that the Gargia Lodge AS, as a personal information officer, may use the information provided to fulfill Gargia Lodge AS’s obligations to order. It may be necessary to transfer information to partners to provide information, offers and services around the customers order via e-mail, telephone, SMS and mailings.

Anyone who receives e-mails is or has been a customer at Gargia Lodge AS or has subscribed to a newsletter / e-mail and has, in conjunction with the order / newsletter / e-mail, provided the e-mail address and telephone number. It is hereby notified that Gargia Lodge AS will send relevant information to order. Orders will be able to receive new information about services and products that are intended to provide a better customer experience at Gargia Lodge AS.

Sending e-mail / text messages only involves the use of e-mail and / or telephone number, not other personal information. It will appear from the e-mail where we have the e-mail address and that it will not be used for anything other than e-mails. The e-mail describes how the recipient can easily say that he / she does not want to receive emails anymore while customers may request that all information registered on the customer is to be deleted.

Gargia Lodge AS processes personal information to customers, users and customers using Gargia Lodge AS services. Gargia Lodge AS takes care of the person’s / guest’s personal information and complies with applicable laws at all times to protect the recipient as a person. Gargia Lodge AS acts as data controller for personal information in connection with the services and in connection with bookings / reservations. Personal information means all information directly or indirectly related to a living person. Gargia Lodge AS’s goal is to maintain a high level of protection for personal data. Gargia Lodge AS primarily uses personal information to manage, operate, develop and maintain benefits, process reservations, optimize user experience in terms of benefits and adjust our communication with the recipient / customer / guest. Gargia Lodge AS collects exclusively personal data that is relevant to the purpose that the customer has ordered. The information collected includes, for example, information about name, address, phone number, email address, IP address, login information, language, user history, travel information, reservation settings, payments, position, emergency contact, special allergens, disability and other information the guests/customers have given in connection with the use of our services.

The purpose of processing personal information is to fulfill the contractual obligations and also offer a more flexible and individual service and product. By making a reservation, the Gargia Lodge AS uses personal information to:

  • Manage, provide, develop and maintain services/products. Manage bookings and reservations on services/products. Contact the guests, eg. per. SMS, other mobile application or email, or notify guests about reservation status or anything else in connection with the reservation before, during and after the stay.
  • Individualize our communication with the guests regarding the services, eg. by creating a profile for you and sending you offers that match your profile as a user of our services. Analyze statistics and user behavior in relation to our services. Improve the orderer’s / guest’s benefits with our products and services in a way that the Gargia Lodge AS thinks benefits the traveler / guest.
  • Promote services and products directly or indirectly to the customer. The customer is always entitled to request that Gargia Lodge AS, without cost, delete the data recorded on the guest and the Gargia Lodge AS commits to do so, unless other laws impede this.
  • In cases where there is a legal requirement for consent to be obtained for processing certain types of personal information or for a particular treatment, consent will be obtained from the customer prior to processing the information. For example, Gargia Lodge AS may be required to show personal information to third parties as a police or other public authority if this is in connection with the investigation of a crime or if NF is required to disclose such information by law or by decision of public authority.
